CILICIA. Tarsus. Gordian III, 238-244. Hexassarion (Bronze, 38 mm, 26.45 g, 7 h). AYT K M AN ΓOPΔIANOC CЄB / Π - Π Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. TAPCOY MHTPOΠ-OΛЄωC Two cilicarch crowns on agonistic table, the outer crown decorated with six imperial heads, two Nikes and inscribed A M K Γ, the inner crown decorated with five imperial heads. CNG 93 (2013), 932 (same dies). SNG Levante 1135 var. (differing reverse legend arrangement). SNG Paris 1650-1651 var. (differing reverse legend arrangement). A beautiful coin with lovely earthen highlights and an interesting reverse. Very fine.
